Igbo is a language spoken by the Igbo ethnic group, one of the major ethnic groups in Nigeria.
The group is indigenous to the south-eastern part of the country, on the eastern side of the Niger river. Igbo are native to five main states in Nigeria: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states.
This lovely folk song is from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria. It is about how it is sweet to learn and be educated. The lyrics go thus:
Akwukwo na to uto
Ona ra ahu na muta
Onye nwere nka si
Obi Oga muta
Akwukwo ma oburu na Nnegi na nnagi
Nwe ego, oburu na Nnegi na nnagi nwe ego.
